Just six months after being hired by a Toronto-based company, Wissam Bendajja was awarded the annual Fast Start Award, which recognizes high-achieving recruits.

Wissam Bendajja and her husband moved to Canada more than a year and a half ago to pursue professional development. We saw that Canada was a country where it is possible to evolve professionally. It was quite motivating,” she told Journal Métro. From Toronto, the couple moved to the Montreal area. She quickly started looking for a job and luck smiled on her. I know a lot of people weren’t as lucky, but I was able to get a really good job in my field pretty quickly,” says the holder of a master’s degree from the École nationale de commerce et de gestion in Kenitra, Morocco. Since then, she has been employed at Softchoice, a leader in the North American IT services industry.

Wissam worked hard and in just six months, her performance earned her the annual Fast Start Award. “I knew I had exceeded my goals, which doesn’t often happen to new [employees], but it was a surprise to receive an invitation to the Softchoice Impact event as a finalist,” says Wissam, who has been an account manager for Softchoice since July 2022. It was a great pleasure because I had never won an award before. It gave me a lot of encouragement to start a good year.” Her wish, she will say, is to expand her territory to cover all of North America.
