A “Moroccan Heritage Month” in Toronto

The Canadian city of Toronto has proclaimed November 2020 “Moroccan Heritage Month”, an opportunity to “discover the heritage of Morocco and the richness of its culture”. “Moroccan Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the achievements of the Moroccan community in Toronto. During this month, we have the opportunity to discover more about Morocco’s heritage and the richness of its culture, ”said the mayor of the Canadian economic metropolis, John Tory.

In a letter to the Moroccan Association of Toronto, Tory recalled “the many contributions made by the Moroccan community to the economic, political, social and cultural fabric of the city””.

He added that Toronto also recognizes the valuable contributions by which the Moroccan community gives full meaning to the city’s motto: “Diversity, our strength”.

As one of the most multicultural cities in the world, Toronto has become “a model where all cultures are welcomed and respected,” he concluded.
