Canada: Airline ticket prices up 13% to 28% this summer

Airline ticket prices this summer in Canada have risen by an average of 13% for Canadian destinations and 28% for international destinations, compared with the summer of 2022, reports the Kayak website.

The end of the COVID-19 pandemic has created a travel craze, notes Leon Mulder, manager of Kayak Canada, quoted by Radio Canada. “Canadians want to make up for lost time,” he adds.

The average price of a round trip abroad this summer is $1,395, according to Kayak. For a Canadian destination, travelers should expect to pay $397 on average.

Destinations like New York and Boston in the U.S. remain affordable for the summer, according to Kayak, which adds that Canadians should expect to pay between $400 and $450 to fly there.

In Canada, the cheapest tickets on average are to Abbotsford, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax.
