As the coronavirus rages in the United States, members of the Muslim Coalition for America (MCA) have distributed face masks to Californians.
A total of 7,500 high-quality, reusable face masks were distributed to Californians last Wednesday at a major charity event at the Watts Empowerment Center in Los Angeles, Press Telegram reports.
“At a time when the whole world is trembling at Covid-19, it is important that Muslims be guided by their cherished principles of charity,” said Omar Qudrat, a founding member of the MCA.
This mask distribution operation is one of the many actions carried out by Muslims in these Covid-19 times. Loft25 in partnership with Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre donated 1 million masks to Birmingham. In March, Muslim British businessman Yousuf Bhaliok donated $200,000 to the NHS.
In the United States, the latest Covid-19 report shows 3,895,803 cases of infection, 1,130,205 recoveries and 143,032 deaths. The country remains and continues to be the most affected by the coronavirus.
