Argentina has announced the signing of a trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates, in order to increase its exports of halal products, in particular meats, to markets in the Islamic world.
The document signed between the Emirates Halal Institute and the Argentine Foundation for the Promotion of Investments and International Trade is the culmination of the Halal Certification Framework Agreement agreed on Argentina’s National Day at Expo Dubai 2020.
The objective is to support Argentine companies in the process of halal certification of their products intended for the Gulf countries and other countries of the Islamic world. Argentina thus intends to definitively conquer the market of the United Arab Emirates, which absorbs its products to the tune of 773 million dollars.
The agreement provides, among other things, the establishment of training and assistance services for Argentine companies in terms of Halal certification, as well as the organization of trade missions and business tours focusing on Halal products.
