Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates tops the list of the world’s busiest airports with passengers in 2021, according to a recent report by Airports Council International.
According to the Airports Council International report, which ranks the world’s busiest airports with passengers and cargo, the data shows encouraging signs of a recovery in air traffic across the world.
And returned to first place in the list of the world’s busiest airports with passengers, to Dubai Airport with over 29.1 million passengers.
In second place comes Istanbul Airport with over 26.4 million passengers, followed by Amsterdam Airport with over 25.4 million passengers. Then Frankfurt airport with more than 22.6 million passengers, and Paris airport with more than 22.6 million passengers.
A second Arab airport also appears in the list, and it is linked to Doha Airport in Qatar, which was ranked sixth, with over 17.7 million passengers.
The rest of the ranks returned to airports in London, Antalya (Turkey), Madrid, then Cancun (Mexico). The number of passengers at these airports varied between 13.2 and 17.6 million passengers per year.
