Algerian students residing in Canada who wish to pursue post-graduate studies (graduate and postgraduate) can now apply for an open work permit, which will allow them to work for any Canadian employer.

“”The Government of Canada is offering the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program as part of its efforts to attract international students and retain them as skilled workers,” says the CanadaVisa website, which is dedicated to immigration to Canada.

“The program offers an open work permit, which allows international graduates to work for any Canadian employer in any industry without the requirement of a Canadian job offer at the time of application,” the same source said.

“The applicant must have completed a minimum of eight months of academic or vocational training in Canada. They must also have held full-time student status in Canada for each academic term,” the same source added.

Note that the applicant must have obtained a Canadian diploma from a public post-secondary institution (university, CEGEP, a private post-secondary school) that offers programs of at least 900 hours.
