Morocco opens consulate in Toronto

A Consulate General of Morocco in Toronto will open its doors to the public from this Wednesday, November 3, announced Monday the Embassy of the Kingdom in Canada.

Announced in January 2020 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, the opening of this new consulate general is in line with the Very High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aiming, among other things, to provide quality and local administrative services to Moroccan nationals living abroad, to support them, to meet their expectations and aspirations while strengthening their links with the mother country, indicated the embassy in a press release.

In addition to the province of Ontario, the Consulate General of the Kingdom in Toronto will cover the territorial constituencies under the western Canadian provinces, namely, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Northern Territories. West, Nunavut and the Yukon.

In addition to Quebec, the Consulate General in Montreal will serve, for its part, the Atlantic provinces of Canada, namely Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick as well as Newfoundland and Labrador, added the same source.

“The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Canada wishes to draw the attention of members of the Moroccan community that, during the transitional phase of consular procurement and adjustment between the two Consulates General of Montreal and Toronto, the consular services relating to the national electronic identity card and adular services will continue to be provided on a provisional basis, and until further notice, by the Consulate General of the Kingdom in Montreal ”, it was specified.
