This Friday, July 31, Niagara Falls and the CN Tower will be illuminated in the colours of the Kingdom. The initiative was taken on the occasion of the celebration of the 21st anniversary of the accession of His Majesty Mohammed VI to the Throne.
This operation was made possible thanks to significant support from the Moroccan Jewish community in Canada and from civil society, including Faouzi Metouilli, President of the Association Marocaine de Toronto.
Morocco’s ambassador to Canada, Souraya Otmani, also made great efforts and worked hard with the other parties and Canadian authorities to make this event, which is already considered prestigious and gives the Kingdom a boost of visibility in a country that welcomes tens of thousands of migrants from Morocco every year.
The Edmonton Bridge in northwestern Alberta will also be one of the places to be illuminated in the colours of Morocco. For Quebec, negotiations are currently under way.
It is understood that this show did not incur any costs for the Moroccan state. A great success for Moroccan diplomacy in Canada.
