In 2030, the FIFA World Cup will bring together three continents and six countries, inviting the whole world to join in the celebration of the beautiful game, the Centenary and the FIFA World Cup itself. The FIFA Council unanimously agreed that the only bid would be the combined bid of Morocco , Portugal and Spain, who will host the event in 2030 and automatically qualify from existing slots, subject to the completion of a successful bidding process led by FIFA and a decision by the FIFA Congress in 2024.
FIFA says three South American countries Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will each host a 2030 World Cup match; hence the expression “three continents and six countries (Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay)”. Remember that Uruguay hosted the first World Cup in 1930.
